I have Compustar Prime remote (four button remote), I think its in Valet mode, but I tried to take it out of the valet mode by turning car ON and pressing button (lock+trunck) simultaneously for 1/2 second but nothing happens. I stepped on the brake and it disengaged. it started the truck earlier. I have a 2012 Ford Focus my command start button is by itself so it’s not on the same key at the ignition key and what happens with mine is that I hold the button for the 5 seconds I was told or until it honks and then starts up however mine honks then when it should start it just honks again and doesn’t start up help ?? Best advice is to check with your installer. Depending on the model, it may have lost programming. Verify the main power and ground… Make sure there are no wires rubbed raw… Shorted wires or a poor ground could create issues like you describe. I notice the LED light mounted on the windshield is no longer lit up? The blue LED that always blinking in the car (on the receiver) is not. I just wanted to say thank you for the awesome article!! Yes, believe it or not, that remote control on your keychain does take batteriesand, after a period of time, they are going to get weak (diminishing the range) and eventually go dead.
